The Hope I Seek - What is the Hope You Seek?

What is the hope you seek? With all that has occurred in the short span of the new year, this might feel like a daunting and staggering question. I keep thinking how prophetic Pope Francis is for naming this Jubilee Year, “Pilgrims of Hope.”

We need hope. Life is filled with ups and downs, fulfillment and disappointment, joys and sorrows. At times, the darkness seems like it will overcome the light, but we know this isn’t true. We have all experienced the light of the Resurrection in our own lives. This is the root of our hope.

Hope is the anchor of our faith. Hope has been poured into us by God and is rooted in our growing faith. We must be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit to increase our hope.

This year, our Into the Deep writers are stepping into the call to be pilgrims of hope, and we are using our voices as writers to share our lived experiences of hope. The first seven blog posts of this year were about the hope we seek. We shared our hopes for empowerment, trust, freedom, fullness promised, the courage to dream big, to come home, and perseverance.

Before we move on to our next series of hope, we would like to put the pen in your hand and invite you to share the hope you seek. Please consider sharing your hope in the comments. We will include your hopes in our prayers.
